Starter comparison cards
These show the countries currently mapped for this activity in the reset dataset.
Albania
Albania Customs states that the import, export or transit of narcotics, narcotic medicaments and psychotropic substances is prohibited. That makes bringing medical cannabis into Albania unsafe to treat as lawful on a general traveler basis.
Azerbaijan
Azerbaijan Customs says narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, their precursors and tools intended for their use are prohibited from being brought into the country.
Canada
Cannabis and products containing cannabis cannot normally be taken across Canadas border even when the traveller has medical authorization.
Egypt
Egypt’s official medicine-travel guidance says pharmaceutical preparations containing substances listed in Schedule 1 and Schedule 3 of the anti-narcotics law cannot be carried by travellers into Egypt, even if permitted in the country of departure. The annex to the guidance includes cannabis.
Iceland
The official Iceland page on what may be brought or ordered into the country says narcotic or addictive substances may not be imported and specifically includes cannabis for medicinal use.
Indonesia
BNN says cannabis remains a Group I narcotic under Indonesia’s narcotics law and cannot be used, cultivated or used for treatment outside tightly controlled research discussions. No general traveller exemption for medical cannabis was identified in the official sources reviewed.
Ireland
Ireland's official health guidance says prescribed cannabis-based products are not permitted to be brought into Ireland under the Schengen travel procedure covered by that guidance.
Laos
Laos treats marijuana and other narcotic drugs as prohibited imports. The official Lao Trade Portal lists cannabis among narcotic drugs that are not allowed to be imported into Lao PDR.
